(D.Pharm) - Diploma in Pharmacy
Diploma in Pharmacy is a two- year full time Programme which aims to train the students to play an important role in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy and assist the pharma industry at various levels. The Programme is affiliated to Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and designed as per the norms of PCI. It will enable students to practice pharmacy profession in a strong, skillful and determined manner.
Programme Objectives:
- The program’s structure will give the accepted candidate a solid foundation in pharmacy knowledge.
- The candidate will gain expertise in a variety of sectors. It will hone skills in providing patient-centered care, problem-solving, education, patient advocacy, promoting health and wellbeing, population-based care, inter-professional collaboration, and communication.
- The candidate will gain knowledge of effective verbal and nonverbal communication when working with a person, group, or organisation. Self-consciousness (Self-awareness) to examine and reflect on one’s knowledge, abilities, biases, motivations, and emotions that may promote or impede one’s personal and professional development. The most demanding and difficult trait that will develop in a candidate throughout course completion is novelty and free enterprise (innovator). It is possible to achieve professional goals by engaging in new activities and employing creative thinking to envision superior solutions. Proficiency (Professional) will be instilled with the values and behaviours that are congruent with the respect that society, other healthcare professionals, and patients have for the profession.
Programme Design:
Students in the D.Pharm. Course, are expected to have in-depth understanding of handling prescriptions and medications. The different types of drugs and their effects on the human body, as well as any negative effects, will become well-known to the students. In this course, they will receive practical instruction in managing the aforementioned items so they can handle them effectively at the wholesale and retail counters. For the same, students will complete an internship. The programme also covers hospital pharmacies and the community pharmacist’s function.
Passed in 10+2 examination (science academic stream) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics. or any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the above examination.
Affiliated to the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi for 60 intakes.
