Animal House Facility
Our CPCSEA approved Laboratory Animal House Facility (AHF) was established in 2016 at Moradabad Educational Trust Group of Institutions Faculty of Pharmacy (METFOP), Moradabad. The purpose of this facility is to conduct preclinical (Animal) or nonclinical studies for the Institutional and Inter-institutional research. We have well equipped, high standard barrier facility having Ground floor to provided sufficient space for the separation of activities (total covered area is 132 square meter) and capable to conduct number of parallel animal studies. It fulfills the requirements of clean room concept and standards of international and national regulatory agency GLP, OECD and CPCSEA.
Mision
- To provide animals of required specification for research projects of this Institute as well as to carry out continuous research on laboratory animals.
- To carry out basic scientific research and orient the new generation with animal studies by accurately following the guidelines of CPCSEA.
- Provide training to post-graduate students and staff members and personals involved in preclinical research.
- To perform research in basic and preclinical fields covering amelioration of human disease and disability, drug development, drug designing, toxicity assessment, improvement of our understanding regarding complex biological systems of human and animal physiology.
Vision
Animals must not be subjected to avoidable distress or discomfort. To ensure the persuasion of 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement) of animal experimentation and the ethical principles of animal use are followed as per CPCSEA guidelines.

Institutional Animal Ethical Committee
The Animal House Facility (AHF) is the backbone of research activities of METFOP. It maintains strains of quality animals for researchers of the Institute. The AHF has its own institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) constituted specifically to address scientific and ethical considerations of animal use for research, and this has been in existence since 2016. The AHF is registered with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India for conducting experiment on small animals. The chief mandate of the AHF is to maintain different strains of mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits.
